Are We Really That Different From Highschool?
I was with my writers group and it was this one guys turn to read. Since I was new to this group, I had no idea what to expect. Well, he began to read; If you looked up the word monotone in the dictionary, it would say, "listen to this guy." At first I was able to force myself to concentrate. Then I found myself doodling art work on his pass out read-a-long sheet, next I found myself studying the faces and what the other people in the room were doing. That's when it hit me! This is exactly how I would have behaved in a classroom back in highschool! I pictured myself like a Charlie Brown character with my head hung over the back of the chair and my arms and legs hanging limp by my sides like I had just been shot. See, some things never change ;)
